Laborer: Roustabouting-Oil and Gas

Job Type: Full-time

Description: Responsible for working within the safety and operational guidelines of Virco Company. Main duties include maintaining a safe working environment, as well as company equipment, and providing high-quality results for our clients.

  • *Previous experience with heavy equipment operations, roustabout work, rig-hand, or containment is required.

  • *One year of oil and gas experience, one year of general labor, and a valid driver’s license is required.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training.

Sawman/Clear Cutting

Job Type: Full-time

Description: Responsible for the control of the direction of a tree's fall by scoring cutting lines with axes, sawing undercuts along scored lines by knocking slabs from cuts with single-bit axes, and driving wedges, clearing brush from work areas and escape routes, cutting saplings and other trees from the direction of falls, selecting trees to be cut down, assessing factors such as site, terrain, and weather conditions before beginning work, stopping saw engines, pulling cutting bars from cuts, and running to safety as tree falls.

Other responsibilities include appraising trees for certain characteristics, such as twists, rots, and heavy limb growth, gauging amount and direction of lean, in order to determine how to control the direction of a tree's fall with the least damage, sawing back-cuts, leaving sufficient sound wood to control the direction of fall, measuring felled trees and cutting them into specified log lengths, using chain saws and axes, assessing logs after cutting to ensure that the quality and length are correct, determining position, direction, and depth of cuts to be made, and placement of wedges or jacks, controlling the direction of a tree's fall by scoring cutting lines with axes, sawing undercuts along scored lines by knocking slabs from cuts with single-bit axes, and driving wedges.

  • Must have the ability to perform physical activities that require full use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, running, stooping, and handling of materials. Additionally, must have the ability to coordinate the movement of arms, legs, and torso together when the whole body is in motion; see and hear well ( either naturally or with correction), lift up to 80 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds.

  • High school diploma preferred

  • 2 years of related experience required

Heavy Equipment Operator

Description: Responsible for operating several types of construction equipment such as dump trucks, bulldozers, front end loaders, graders, tracked excavators or water trucks to excavate, move, grade, and load earth into haul trucks.

Must be able to learn and follow safety regulations, take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects, the ability to locate underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work, monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met, adjust handwheels and depress pedals to control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers, or swing booms.

Must also have the ability to start engines; move throttles, switches, or levers; or depress pedals to operate machines, such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, or backhoes, coordinate machine actions with other activities, position or move loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members, load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials using trucks, crawler tractors, power cranes, shovels, graders, or related equipment, check fuel supplies at sites to ensure adequate availability, drive and maneuver equipment with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, or rocks or to distribute and level earth or terrain.

  • Must be able to follow safety regulations, instructions and meet set standards, judge distances and slopes accurately, make decisions based on verifiable standards, Must also be able to stoop, bend, and crouch and use hands, arms, and legs fully, have good vision and hearing (either naturally or with correction), frequently lift up to 80 pounds, and the ability to carry objects weighing 50 pounds or less, work dusty or dirty surroundings, pass construction equipment operator qualification testing/observation.

  • High School Diploma preferred

  • Two-three years verifiable and relevant experience required
